Octodad: Dadliest Catch has been making the rounds on consoles since his PC release back at the start of last year and now everyone’s favourite cephalopod father is hitting PS Vita.
The news comes in the way of a post on PlayStation Blog in which game developer, Young Horses, announced that Octodad: Dadliest Catch would be hitting PS Vita on May 26th this year. That’s just 6 days away! Octodad will set you back $14.99 but there’s some good news for those PlayStation4 owners who already own the title. You can check out the full PlayStation Blog post here.
That’s right, Octodad will be a Cross Buy game on PlayStation platforms, meaning that if you’ve downloaded it already on your PlayStation 4 you’ll be getting the portable version for free! Unfortunately though you won’t able to transfer your save across the two different version of the game through CrossSave. Better get flailing around those first few stages again then.
The Vita version will also bring several new trophies and thanks to some collaboration work with developer Sickhead Games, a two-player local co-op mode is available. Of course falling in line with the craziness that we’ve grown to expect from Octodad: Dadliest Catch, the local co-op all takes place on one PS Vita. The two players will be grabbing half of the Vita and causing complete and utter chaos in the process.
Octodad: Dadliest Catch will release on PS Vita on May 26th, joining the releases on PlayStation 4, Wii U, PC, Mac, Linux and the upcoming release for Xbox One this year.
Have you played Octodad: Dadliest Catch? Will you be picking it up on Vita to grab those extra trophies and play some local co-op? Let us know in the comments below.
