Shovel Knight Digging Its Way to Xbox One Next Week

Something, something, shovel pun.

Shovel Knight is due to go on sale for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita users throughout Europe and North America today. This comes after the indie side-scroller arrived on PC, 3DS, and WiiU last year. Those waiting for the game on Xbox One luckily won’t have to wait as long though.

While there is no confirmed release date as such, Microsoft affiliate Larry Hyrb (known as Major Nelson to many) confirmed in the tweet below that Shovel Knight will be available on Xbox One next week. The confirmation came shortly after he made an error in saying that the game was to be made available this week.

This follows on from the confirmation that Shovel Knight bounded its way through first-party certification overnight. There’s still no release date set in stone but it wouldn’t be crazy to suggest that Xbox One owners will be able to dig themselves into a hole of side-scrolling fun before we wave a fond farewell to April.

No price has been confirmed yet for the Xbox One edition of the game, but it’ll like be close to that of the PlayStation version with one additional feature standing over all others; Battletoads.
