During today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced what we can expect to see in the next Mario Kart 8 DLC pack, and an update set to release on the same day for the title.
The second batch of DLC for Mario Kart 8 is set to arrive on the 23rd April and will be Animal Crossing- themed. The DLC will include three new characters: the Villager, Isabelle and Dry Bowser, 4 new vehicles the first two of which named the City Tripper and the Streetle, and the Crossing and Bell Cups, adding a grand total of 8 new tracks through the DLC.
Nintendo showed off the Animal Crossing themed track and the track’s ability to change throughout all four seasons, with winter, spring, summer and autumn variants on the track. Oh and Mr Resetti is in there too so it’s a must download… cause Resetti!
Nintendo are also adding Amiibo support to Mario Kart 8, with 9 new costumes linked in to Nintendo’s next wave of Amiibo with character such as Pac-Man, Mega-Man, Toad, Sonic and Wario.
That wasn’t all Nintendo had to offer in terms of Mario Kart news, a new difficulty mode will be releasing alongside the DLC on April 23rd for all players in the form of the 200CC mode. The 200CC mode will add a speed boost to all new and existing Mario Kart 8 tracks, adding a greater challenge and new karts to the racer.
