Developers Lancarse have announced that Lost Dimension will be released on Playstation 3 and PS Vita this summer in North America. The RPG focuses on 11 gifted warriors, each with unique abilities, as they attempt to make it to ‘The End’ in a world dominated by a madman. However, the 11 warriors may not be as supportive as they seem as players are forced to work out who may be traitors and not to improve your chances of defeating the Final Boss. Lost Dimension will continue regardless of the choices players make and has elements of relationship building along with typical RPG aspects of combat and gameplay.
Whilst originally being released in 2014 in Japan, Lost Dimension has a visual novel-like system and graphical look that matches the surroundings along with the characters. Throughout the game, players have to make specific choices as to who is traitor and who isn’t through taking the time to meet and speak with each gifted warrior. Whilst leveling and bonding with your combat unit, Lancarse have stated that players have the ability to give EXP to other characters to increase levels. However, if the player is not careful regarding who may be a traitor, this may be time wasted into training a future enemy to fight.
Publishers ALTUS write:
Well, let me paint a nightmare scenario for you: your pool of warriors that are leveling up and gaining experience have a few traitors in their midst. And as you inch closer and closer towards the final boss, you’re forced to kill one of your teammates — hoping against all hope that you figured out enough clues along the way to be able to correctly identify which one of them is actually a traitor.
Lost Dimension has received a lot of positive reviews since its original release in 2014, and more information can be found here.
