Final Fantasy XIV will be coming to Mac computers later this year alongside its first expansion, Heavensward. The announcement was made today at PAX East 2015 by Final Fantasy XIV producer, Naoki Yoshida. Fans didn’t have to wait long either to find out exactly when, as the release date for the Mac version was tied together with the newly announced date for Heavensward, June 23, 2015.
A Mac version of FFXIV has been discussed and rumored for quite sometime now, but will take until the game’s first expansion before it finally materializes. It’s better late than never though, as Square Enix’s first MMORPG, Final Fantasy XI, never saw a Mac release. Xbox One fans must really feel out of the cold now as well, considering Final Fantasy XIV is now playable on PC, Mac, and PS4. Although whispers of a Xbox One version have made its rounds in the past.
Are there any Mac fans out there that have been patiently waiting for Square Enix’s flagship MMORPG?
