Alien: Isolation is a Lot Less Scary in Third-Person

Not very scary when you can see all around you.

Ever wondered what Alien: Isolation would look like had it been a third-person game? Wonder no more. Creative Assembly’s Alistair Hope, who was the creative lead of Alien: Isolation, showcased some early footage of the game at a panel at this week’s GDC.

Creative Assembly initially toyed with the idea of having Alien: Isolation play as a third-person game, but this idea was quickly scrapped when the team realized it would take away some of the game’s tension and horror elements. A wise decision, in my opinion. You can check out the game’s third-person footage in the video up above.

Alien: Isolation is available now for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
