Obsidian Entertainment sets new release date for their upcoming title Pillars of Eternity.
Today, Obsidian Entertainment announced that their upcoming title Pillars of Eternity is set to release March 26. It will be available on Steam, GOG, and “other online retailers.”
Pillars of Eternity was originally set to release in 2014, but was delayed. Originally titled Project Eternity, Pillars of Eternity is a throwback title with close ties to Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment.
According to Obsidian “Eternity aims to recapture the magic, imagination, depth, and nostalgia of classic RPG’s that we enjoyed making – and playing. At Obsidian, we have the people responsible for many of those classic games and we want to bring those games back…”
The game was launched by a very successful Kickstarter, which raised nearly four million dollars to create the game.
In addition to announcing the release date, Obsidian will be showcasing the game on their Twitch channel today at 1PM PST (21:00 GMT).
