Virtual Reality is around the corner. Well, so it seems, and with it lots of changes are coming. This is what we’ve been dreaming for a long time and now it really seems within our reach. Even though we keep imagining all of our games adapted to this new technology, there are some specific examples that seem to be especially suited. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter might very well be the best existing case.
Today, Adrian Chmielarz, Co-owner and Creative Director at The Astronauts made a very interesting post on one of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter’s Steam discussions. It seems VR support is being seriously considered and fans will surely be pleased.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was one of the great indie surprises in 2014 and qualifies as an exciting VR candidate for many reasons, especially its stunning visuals and exploration-based gameplay. I can’t think of a game I would rather play in order to enjoy a true virtual reality ride.
As Chmielarz said, this wont happen overnight. Nonetheless, he’s speaking about months, not years, and we surely can wait if the reward is as good as it seems. Get your hopes high, this is one of many great gaming news for next year. 2015 will be awesome.
