Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be seeing its second piece of additional content coming December 16th with the just announced DLC pack The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodome Onslaught coming just over a week from now.
Dated to arrive on December 16th, The Holodome Onslaught will feature wave-based combat in a new challenge arena – likely the titular Holodome. This challenge arena will feature older enemies from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel coming to battle alongside new enemies brought in just for this festival of death. Throughout The Holodome Onslaught, Vault Hunters (that’s you) will be able to find new skins, class-mods, and the oh-so-wonderful weapons that Borderlands fans have come to love.
Franchise lovers will also see Axton and Gaige reprise their roles from Borderlands 2 although in what context this will occur remains to be seen. All that we know so far is that they are going to have the events of previous games told to them. It all sounds a little like Digi-Struct Peak from Borderlands 2 but that was kind of good fun so this is likely to be a welcome addition to 2K Australia’s stab at the Borderlands name.
All owners of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will also receive a free patch which brings in a mode called Ultimate Vault Hunter. Past players will already know what this entails. You’ll be able to go through the game once again on a higher difficulty to earn better guns and other awesome stuff.
Season pass owners or purchasers of The Holodome Onslaught will be able to also continue onto level 60. This adds 10 new levels and 10 new skill-points to slot into those talent trees.
The Holodome Onslaught can be purchased for $9.99 alone or downloaded as part of the season pass which has already seen DLC to bring Handsome Jack’s body double in as a playable character in the Doppleganger class. More information on this latest add-on for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released before launch.
