Ubisoft Commits Platform Seppuku and Pulls Big Holiday Games from Steam

At some point last night, Ubisoft’s big holiday 2014 titles, including games such as Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, and The Crew, have been removed from Steam.

In a response to PCGamesN, a representative for Ubisoft UK had this to say:

We’ve been in discussions with Valve about Assassin’s Creed Unity but for the time being the game is not available via Steam in the UK.

I have sent them an email for clarification, as the games in question are also missing from the US Steam store. In the meantime, they suggested checking other digital retails, particularly Ubisoft’s own Uplay service. I’m not gonna say nobody wants to use Uplay, but Ubisoft: Nobody wants to use Uplay. This doesn’t seem like a wise course for you to chart.

I’ll keep you updated when I hear a response. Have any of you already pre-ordered an Ubisoft game through Steam? Will this make you rethink your decision? Let us know in the comments below!
