With EA Access and PlayStation Now, video game streaming has become more easily accessible to those interested in à la carte gaming. Nvidia recently decided to throw their weight into the cloud gaming crowd with the announcement of their very own service called Grid.
Grid was unveiled early Thursday and will come with 20 games upon its release, including Batman: Arkham City, Dead Island, and Borderlands 2. The service is exclusive to platforms using Nvidia Shield technology, namely the Shield Tablet and portable gaming device. A preview for Grid will roll out on Tuesday in North America and will be available on Shield platforms. Nvidia hasn’t decided on a pricing scheme as of yet, but the service will be free to users until July of next year.
The release date for the Grid preview in Western Europe is sometime in December. Asia Pacific is still up in the air, but Nvidia expects to launch it there Q2 of next year.
