Activision Blizzard released an updated subscriber count yesterday that quantifies the effect that the upcoming Warlord of Draenor expansion is having on the overall subscriber count for World of Warcraft. According to the data, World of Warcraft is currently at 7.4 million subscribers (as of September 30,2014), up from their previous figure of 6.8 million by 600,000.
Clearly plenty of players are dusting off their old WoW characters in the hopes that Warlords of Draenor renews their interest in the game. The last pre-Draenor patch — The Iron Tide — was released yesterday and offers plenty of changes to characters and interfaces along with new content to play through.
World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor is slated for release on November 13th on PC.
