The Evil Within's Final Trailer is Filled With Spooky Churches and Gruesome Deaths

October is by far the spookiest month of the year and this new trailer for The Evil Within captures that essence perfectly. The trailer, set to be the final one before the game releases on the 14th of October, runs players through the revivalist horror experience they can expect from the game. Rather than focus on a showy TV spot, this trailer acts more like a synopsis of the entire game. It showcases the basic story,  types of enemies, item system, stealth mechanics, and numerous puzzles.

The one theme that runs across the entire trailer is the sheer violence of death. Like, just in the 3 minute long video you witness the hero Sebastian have his neck slit by a chainsaw, crushed by a ceiling of spikes, and slid slowly through a man sized meat grinder. The whole experience is giving off some serious Resident Evil 4 vibes. Let’s hope the game lives up to the hype

Like nearly every other game release this year, The Evil Within will be appearing on both last and current gen systems. Look for it on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4 on October 14th.
