In what can only be described as a reasonably anticipated turn of events, it seems that Super Smash Bros. for 3DS has already sold out in Japan.
On it’s second week on store shelves, Smash Bros. sold 321,363 copies according to Japanese sales tracker Media Create. Week 3 sales went down to 109,811 copies although shortages were reportedly to blame and the game likely would have sold more had supply fully met demand.
So far, Smash Bros. for 3DS has sold a whopping 1.37 million copies. With the Wii U version on the horizon, the numbers can only go up from there. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is set to release sometime this holiday season.
