Microsofts very pretty free-to-play “game-maker video game” will be leaving beta next week. On October 7th, Project Spark will become an officially released product.
The full release is not the end of development, as Microsoft’s Team Dakota stated in an email to beta participants:
“…what may look like a finish line is actually just the starting line for Project Spark and we have a full roadmap of improvements, features and content pack coming your way, starting… well, starting as soon as we launch.”
They’ve also revealed the Starter Pack Bundle, which is described as “an amazing bundle of additional cool Project Spark stuff to jump-start your fun.”
Also mentioned is potential retailer-specific pre-order bonuses for buying the Starter Pack a bit early. Additionally, all players who access the Project Spark Beta on Xbox One or Windows 8 before 11:59pm PDT on October 5th will receive a “Beta Rewards Package” as a special thank you for participating.
I’m skeptical of pre-order bonuses on a digital only game, but I am excited to see how much content is added for the final release. What about you? Have you tried Project Spark yet? I’ve heard very few people talking about it since the Conker content was revealed at E3 this year. Will the full version influence you to give it a try? Let me know in the comments below!
