A TV rendition of PC classic Myst is in the works. Designers Rand and Robyn Miller have struck a deal granting Legendary Pictures the rights to production. Legendary is well known for cinematic hits such as Pacific Rim and The Dark Knight.
Details are still forthcoming. Whether the show will air on network television, or via a digital service like Netflix has yet to be determined. There are plans, however, for a new tie-in game and other cross-media efforts.
Myst was originally released in 1993. One of the most successful games in PC gaming history, it sold six million copies. It managed to keep its record as best-selling PC game for an impressive nine years before being trumped by The Sims in 2002.
