Super Smash Bros. for 3DS Sales Reach 1 Million in Just Two Days

After Super Smash Bros. for 3DS overwhelmed Japanese retailers at launch this past September 13, Nintendo announced today that the title has reached 1 million in sales, a figure that includes both retail sales and Nintendo eShop downloads. It’s an incredible number to achieve in only two days, and reminds everyone here in the US to sit around and sullenly think about how they won’t get their hands on this game until October 3.

The Nintendo statement notes that they have shipped one million copies to stores, and will be shipping more later this week to keep up with demand. It also points out that this is the fourth 3DS game to reach the 1 million sales mark in its first week, after Monster Hunter 4, Youkai Watch 2, and Pokémon X/Y.
