PlayStation Plus Free Multiplayer Weekend Kicks off Friday

Have you got a PlayStation 4 but still don’t have a PS Plus subscription? Well starting this weekend and for the whole weekend, you’ll be able to play any games which require a PS Plus subscription without the subscription. This means that all of those recent releases you might have picked up will be open to play online for the whole of this weekend – which includes the FIFA 15 launch.

On the PlayStation blog, Community specialist Kristine Steimer says “PlayStation Plus is opening up online multiplayer to our PS4 owners, so you all can play with your friends. This gives owners of recent titles like Destiny, Madden NFL 15, FIFA 15 and Diablo III a chance to try out their great multiplayer components.”

Unsurprisingly this is a way to get more people who may have purchased a PS4 but not yet hopped onto the Plus wagon to make the leap.

The free weekend will run from Friday September 26th 12:01 Pacific/8:00am BST/ 9:00am CET and end on Sunday September 28th 11:59 Pacific with European territories wrapping up the free weekend Monday 29th 9:00 am BST/10:00 am CET.

It should be noted that only the multiplayer elements will be unlocked for users. Monthly free games, cloud storage space and additional PlayStation Store discounts will not be applied to non-subscribers over the weekend.
