Remember PlayStation Home? The easily forgotten virtual life service will be closing its doors for good very soon. Sony today announced that the servers for PlayStation Home will be shutting down once and for all on March 31st of next year. Sony also announced that the platform will cease “publishing new content on the 12th of November” for North American gamers and on the 3rd of December for Europeans.
To celebrate the “social gaming platform’s” demise, players will able to download a bunch of free content before the shut down. The service originally opened up in 2008 and served as a virtual socialization tool for PlayStation 3 users. Players were able to explore themed worlds, create and dress avatars, maintain an apartment, and interact with other users.
