Grand Theft Auto V is coming to Xbox One and PS4 November 18th 2014, with the PC release coming a couple of months later on January 27th.
You’ll be able to, according to the press release, bring existing characters from the still active GTA Online to the new version. This won’t be tied to a particular service either, as there is the option to bring your character across to any platform of your choosing. The gamemode will also be receiving some updates including an increased player count of 30 within Los Santos.
Players who have previously owned Grand Theft Auto V are eligible for “rare versions of classic vehicles to collect from across the Grand Theft Auto series such as the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane and a faster, more maneuverable Blimp; activities including wildlife photography and new shooting range challenges, new weapons and more.” The only requirement to get this content for yourself on the current generation are the need to have completed the prologue section of the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 versions while online, although a Rockstar Social Club account will also be necessary.
The entire game has received a copious amount of updates besides the obvious visual upgrade. Denser traffic, new foliage, more wildlife, new weapons and new vehicles make up just some of these additions. Improved radio stations will also be included, featuring over 100 new songs in their soundtrack.
Preordering Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC nets players a free million dollars in game to spend within the GTA Online component.
