Revealed in the recent issue of Gamemaster Magazine, the recently announced Resident Evil Revelations 2 will feature a surprising pair of leads. Claire Redfield and Barry Burton’s daughter, Moira, as seasoned zombie hunting veterans.
A couple of details of the upcoming game make some of the same promises Capcom has made for each new Resident Evil title in that Rev 2 will also be a return to the survival-horror roots of the series. How much of that is true will likely depend on how much you though Resident Evil 6 was also a successful return to survival horror (it wasn’t, in my opinion).
Additionally, the game will feature both single-player and co-op story modes but with an interesting twist in that Claire will be the primary fighter between the pair, while Moira will be relegated to support such as healing, lighting, and other miscellaneous tasks. Additionally, only Claire’s death will lead to a game over which might imply a permanent death run for Moira.
The game will also take place between Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 on what seems to be an abandoned prison.
Resident Evil Revelations was hailed as one of the best in recent series games but personally I just thought it was the best out of a range of pretty average titles. Still this is Claire’s first game since Code: Veronica and I’m excited to see her back in action.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be coming out for Next-Gen consoles and PC.
