If you’ve played a Super Smash Bros. game at some point in your life, you know that collecting all of the trophies there are to collect is no easy feat. In Super Smash Bros. 3DS, you’ll be able to pay for trophies using both in-game currency and 3DS Play coins, according to a picture (shown above) within a post by Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai on Miiverse.
Sakurai also commented on the amount of trophies there would be in the same post: “Super Smash Bros. Brawl had tons of trophies, but rumor has it that the 3DS version alone may have more than Brawl.” The option to pay with Play coins will make collecting all of the trophies much easier since Play coins are awarded for physically walking around with the 3DS in sleep mode.
Super Smash Bros. 3DS is slated for release on October 3rd for the 3DS. The Wii U version is expected to arrive sometime this holiday season.
