The latest World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor, is set to release November 13. With it will come updated visuals, a slew of new content, and a new pricing scale for UK players.
“We regularly look at our pricing around the world and from time to time we make changes in light of local and regional market conditions,” Blizzard noted. “As such, we want to give everyone a heads-up that we will shortly be adjusting the pound sterling subscription price of World of Warcraft.”
The new prices for recurring subscriptions will change as follows:
30 Days: £9.99, previously £8.99
90 Days: £28.17, previously £25.17
180 Days: £52.14, previously £46.14
The 60-day prepaid time card will have a suggested retail price of £20.99.
As a thank you to current WoW-heads, players with auto-renewing subscriptions come November 13 will get to keep paying their current subscription price for 2 years following the price hike, as long as their payment plan is uninterrupted. Players will also receive a notification 2 months before any price change affects their accounts, so that they may make any desired plan adjustments.
If the relatively small price hike bums you out, just watch the cinematic below to get yourself pumped for Warlords of Draenor, and drown you sorrows in some jolly orc fun.
