In yet another partnership between a floundering Crytek and publisher Deep Silver, following the transferring of the Homefront IP and Homefront 2‘s development staff from the former to the latter, Crytek has announced that their Xbox One launch title exclusive, Ryse: Son of Rome, will be coming to PC sometime this fall.
The digital release of Ryse, a quicktime-event based action game set in a highly fictionalized ancient Rome, will be handled purely by Crytek, while Deep Silver will be handling a physical release for the PC port. Included in the PC edition will be all of the game’s pre-launch and post-launch DLC, including skins, Arena maps, and the Survival game mode, along with the special Legionnaire’s Sword and the Ruins multiplayer map from the special edition. The PC port will also support 4K resolution, enhancing the already impressive visuals.
Ryse 2 was canceled last month amid rumors of Crytek’s financial troubles, which led to the above mentioned Homefront deals. The PC version of Ryse: Son of Rome has no release date.
