The Ouya library continues to grow with the release Neon Caves today, a new retro-style shooter that pits you against the neon dangers that dwell within darkness of a cave. One of the more interesting things about it is that it’s something of an eclectic mix of retro shooter and modern twin-stick shooters.
Instead, you must maneuver your ship as you see fit, avoiding the dangers avoid, below, and all around you, as you must take the time to stop and then shoot or as you speed away, which gives me something of a Resident Evil 5 vibe. I could imagine this would magnify the intensity of having to go around destroying everything in and out of sight.
You can check out bits of the gameplay yourself in the launch trailer for Neon Caves above. The game looks like a ton of fun, especially for just $2.99 on the Ouya library. Cheap prices are always fun. It’s also important to note that the game has an achivement called “Nic Cage”. Just remember that.
