Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro Team Up For 'Silent Hills'

You read that right. game developer Hideo Kojima and director Guillermo Del Toro are teaming up to bring Silent Hill back from the dead, under the title Silent Hills.

P.T., a free PS4 digital download was revealed by Sony earlier today. Not much was known about this demo aside from the fact that it was a horror interactive experience developed by 7780s Studio.

As it turns out, 7780s Studio was a made-up company by Hideo Kojima, not unlike Moby Dick Studios, which Kojima used for his Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain marketing gag. At the end of the P.T. demo, we got to see the main character turn around, revealing himself to be the virtual likeness of Norman Reedus, well-known for his role on AMC’s The Walking Dead.

The teaser also boasts that Silent Hills will run on the FOX Engine while Akira Yamaoka’s main theme from Silent Hill 1 plays in the background. The Silent Hill franchise has been dead in the water for the past few years now, and I am definitely psyched to see what Kojima and Del Toro can do with this series.
