Way back in 2012, a trailer hit the internet that fooled the world into believing that Nintendo was working on a massive remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. It wasn’t Nintendo, sadly, but rather the work of artists Pablo Belmonte and Paco Martinez painstakingly remastering characters and environments from Majora in a stunning new graphics engine.
Since then, the duo has gone dark, and no other information about the trailer or its purpose has been released. Until today, when their channel was updated with a behind the scenes look at Belmonte and Martinez remaking more characters and environments not seen in the original trailer.
We have no idea where this is going, but the video is titled “Zelda: Majora’s Mask Project” in the upper right corner, so it is certainly worth keeping an eye on. You can view the original trailer here.
