In shocking news, Executive Producer Casey Hudson is leaving BioWare after 16 years with the company. Casey was in charge of the design of the universally adored Mass Effect series and got his start with the developer as a Technical Artist working on Neverwind Nights. In a letter to the company Casey wrote:
After what already feels like a lifetime of extraordinary experiences, I have decided to hit the reset button and move on from BioWare. I’ll take a much needed break, get perspective on what I really want to do with the next phase of my life, and eventually, take on a new set of challenges
In the letter he also stated his appreciation of the multitude of BioWare fans:
The very idea that so many of you have enjoyed spending time in the worlds we’ve created is the defining achievement of my career, and it’s your support over the years that made it all possible.
Regardless of whether or not you agreed with all the decisions made during the creation of the Mass Effect series, it’s clear that BioWare is losing a key component of their previous success.
