First-person shooters have reached a point in the genre where everything seems almost formulaic. Dozens of Call of Duty clones litter the market and make it difficult to find games that have a different flavor. With VizionEck, Michael Armbrust hopes to create a FPS experience unlike any other.
VizionEck has an art-style that doesn’t exactly scream “first-person shooter”. The geometric environments almost seem like Geometry Wars meets the 3D world, and they definitely look different from what you’d typically expect in a competitive FPS. According to Armbrust via the PlayStation Blog: “Every situation can be approached in multiple ways, with no inherently bad choices. Destroying enemies and surviving is generally good, but in VizionEck nothing is black and white. Even self-destruction has positive outcomes depending on the player’s circumstances.”
VizionEck is slated for release sometime towards the end of 2014 exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
