David Goldfarb, the lead desginer of AAA studio Overkill Software, creators of the Payday series, has announced that he is leaving the company to start his own indie studio in Stockholm. Previously, he worked at DICE on Battlefield 3 before starting with the Payday developer two years ago.
It’s all on good terms and I think they’re well positioned to succeed as the last Steam sale seems to indicate. They’re doing just fine. It’s just one of those things where I’ve been making games for a long time.
Goldfarb’s new indie venture already has four developers in place and they have been in the early stages of development for the past few months.
