One of the greatest things about Minecraft is that you can play it on pretty much every machine you own now. With a PlayStation Vita edition coming soon, it’s safe to say that most people have at least one device that they can build blow up Creepers on. One of the most popular versions of Minecraft, the Minecraft Pocket Edition for iOS and Android devices received an update today that added features bringing it ever-closer to the PC version.
Some notable changes are the addition of an interact button, making it easier to interact with things whenever you want to rather than by accidentally tapping part of the screen. There were also new biomes added along with updates to existing ones. The grand total of supported worlds is also up to 13 and you’ll be able to encounter Endermen, Mooshrooms, Silverfish, Wolves, and Slime enemies out in the world. The generation of the worlds themselves was also improved and the emerald ore was added.
One of the most abstract changes of them all was the introduction of “endless” worlds. The Minecraft worlds in 0.9.0 will generate as you go rather than having hard edges that you can’t go past. The possibilities are literally endless for the new Pocket Edition.
