The second version of Microsoft’s Kinect – the one that ships with the Xbox One – has been listed by the Microsoft Store.
The peripheral, called “Kinect for Windows v2” will cost $200 and has a release date of July 15, although preorders are now open. In May, Microsoft announced it was presenting a Kinect-less version of the Xbox One for $100 less than the one with Kinect. The price difference is interesting, because it suggests that the Kinect for Windows is its own beast.
In any case, Kinect for Windows v2 ships without any software and the license for the SDK, the kit used to develop for it, is sold separately.
