The latest content update for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Defenders of Eorzea (Patch 2.3), is on its way this week. For those not familiar with the world of MMOs, this isn’t your everyday bug fixing/balancing patch. Titled content updates such as these are massive patches that add a myriad of new additions bordering on the level of purchasable expansion packs. This is where all those subscription fees go towards, among other things like pizza party Friday in the Square Enix office and paying the salary of the guy who comes up with all of the crazy titles for their games.
It’s a huge list of new stuff, so if you’re interested grab a coffee and start churning through it. Since these are “preliminary notes” they are subject to change. However as of right now, all of these changes/additions are scheduled to be released into the wild when Defenders of Eorzea drops this week on July 8th.
