The popular hack and slash game, Darksiders, could very well be coming to a platform that is mostly disregarded by the gaming community. Linux users may soon be able to play the 2010 darling if a photo from the Darksiders official Facebook page is to be believed. The photo in question contains the words “Darksiders Linux” on the top of a windowed version of the game with the Linux logo present on the upper left side of the window. This seems like a pretty obvious tease that Darksiders will be making it’s way to the platform pretty soon.
It is unknown as to why developer, Nordic Games, is porting the four year old to the under-used operating system but it could have something to do with the fact that the long-gestating SteamOS will be Linux based and Nordic might want to get a head start on having something out for the future platform. And while that is purely speculation on my part it could just also be that the company wants to make its work available to as many people as possible in a day and age where people stay extremely faithful to the operating systems they find most comfortable. So rejoice Linux users, because Darksiders could very well be coming your way very soon.
