During today’s E3 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo talked about the latest The Legend of Zelda game.
They state that their inspiration for this newest installment would revolve around revisiting many of the original themes and ideas of the early days of The Legend of Zelda. Part of that involved creating a world that felt large, expansive, and almost entirely accessible.
The new The Legend of Zelda features a very vast new world with a map as large as the eye can see. No longer are boundaries in your way. You can enter just about any area from any direction or any angle. Essentially, puzzle-solving will begin the instant somebody wonders where they want to go. No longer will Zelda feature as much linearity as in the past.
Powerful enemies will of course continue to appear, even in an otherwise peaceful world. As shown in the trailer, enemies are of course large and quite dangerous. We even received a quick look at Link’s new design. Expect this new The Legend of Zelda title to launch on Wii U in 2015!
