During today’s E3 Nintendo Direct, Yoshi’s Wooly World was shown off. The developers aimed to set themselves apart from Kirby’s Epic Yarn.
Gimmicky in nature, strands of yard comprise the basis of Yoshi’s Wooly World. The game looks and seems as though it would feel very similar to Yoshi’s Story back in the wonderfully ancient days of the Nintendo 64. Here, you will move around in exciting 2.5D action platforming. You will be allowed to maneuver through the level as you desire, and enjoy not being hampered down by the time limits you might experience in a standard Mario game.
Exploration through levels using your yarn-y abilities will allow for player choice in getting through a level. A two player mode was announced where both players can move through a map together. They can freely use one another to solve certain challenges.
The developers describe the game’s art design as feeling “hand-made,” just as you might feel towards a hand-knit sock or sweater from your grandmother.
Yoshi’s Wooly World will be coming to Wii U in 2015! Check out the trailer!
