If you were around yesterday, you might have heard during Nintendo Direct that Nintendo was launching a new line of figurines to use with many of their new and upcoming games called Amiibo. Think Skylanders, except Nintendo.
Amiibos are intended to be used in conjunction with the Wii U gamepad. When you touch the base of your Amiibo figure to the gamepad, your Amiibo will find itself amidst the action in whatever compatible game you are currently playing. For now, Amiibo is planned to be used with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and Yoshi’s Wooly World.
