Ever since the launch of the PS4 back in November last year, Sony has been pretty confident of the system’s capabilities to provide smooth and high quality experiences for the next-gen games. Ubisoft’s upcoming title Watch Dogs is no exception.
Written on a listing on the official PlayStation website, Sony claims that Watch Dogs will “run at 60 frames per second in 1080p” and that this was a “way that only PS4 can provide”. Those are some big promises to keep, even though Ubisoft has yet to release any official details on the Watch Dogs‘ specs.
The issue of frame rates and resolutions has been a high point of contention for the ongoing console war between the PS4 and the XBOX One, though Microsoft has not made any claims on how Watch Dogs will run on the XBOX One. From where I’m standing, it’s pretty interesting to see that both Sony and Microsoft seem to believe that the key to ‘winning’ this console war lies in the graphical capabilities of their consoles.
Watch Dogs will be available on the PS3, PS4, XBOX 360, XBOX One, and PC on 27th May. It will also be available on the Wii U though no release date has been set for it just yet.
