Yesterday, Take-Two Interactive (who owns both 2k Games and Rockstar Games) released their financial results for the fiscal year 2014 ended March 31st, 2014.
It isn’t much of a question that Take-Two had an amazing year. After all, who could with a blockbuster title like Grand Theft Auto V heading their lineup?
For this past fiscal fourth quarter 2014, Take-Two reported a GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) net revenue of $195.2 million, compared to $299.5 million from the same quarter in 2013. While there was an approximate 33% decrease in revenue, it is worth noting that in that same quarter in 2013, Bioshock Infinite had been released, certainly supporting that figure.
For the fiscal year 2014, Take-Two reported a 94% increase in GAAP net revenue to a record-high $2.351 billion, as compared to $1.214 billion from the fiscal year 2013, a tremendous degree of growth.
