Surprise! Sony has just revealed on the US PlayStation blog its new releases for the PSN store which will go live on 20th May. Amidst the plethora of new releases and small titles is a little game called Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga.
Atlus has been killing it lately with all these releases of their PS2 classics such as Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, and the Raidou Kuzunoha games. In addition to that, all the PSP Persona titles from 1 to 3 (with the exception of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, the second game in the P2 duology, which is priced at $9.99) are priced at $4.99 on the PSN store at the time of writing.
Sony also provided a short synopsis of Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga on the blog post:
“Unleash your inner demon. Enter the world of the Junkyard, where rival tribes fight an endless war vying for supremacy and the right to ascend to Nirvana. Changed forever by a mysterious light, Serph and his comrades now have the power to change into powerful demons…”
I got chills just from reading that.
Making their old games accessible to the modern generation of gamers is definitely a wise move on Atlus’ part, especially since many gamers today might have missed out on the PS2’s and PSP’s glory days. I’m still playing through Nocturne myself but the Digital Devil Saga duology is something that I’ll definitely be occupying myself with this summer.
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga will be available on the PSN store on 20th May.
