New Ocarina of Time Speedrun World Record Set–Cosmo Has Done It Again

The world of speedruns is a marvelous thing that is way too nerve wracking for me to ever become a part of. But alas, speedrunner Cosmo Wright has once again beat his own Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time record and set the new bar at a ridiculous 18:32.

There are a variety of types of speedruns out there, some allowing manipulation of glitches, some not, and others with specific types of objectives. This one completed is a very simple “Any percentage” run which accepts any percentage of completion. While this speedrun was completed on a slightly faster version of Ocarina of Time, this is something recognized and accepted within the community.

Cosmo’s new 18:32 record is the new record from the previous 18:56 he himself held, and the 19:00 held just before that by skater82297. Wow.

If you’ve never had the chance to look at Ocarina of Time, I suppose 18:32 is a pretty decent way for you to acquaint yourself, so check out how crazy these speedruns can get, haha.
