A casting call posted on on March 6th on a popular casting network called Actors Access lists an “Unnamed Video Game” by Take-Two Interactive looking for actors for voice-over, motion capture, and facial scans. The listing is looking for three actors to play the characters Franklin, Tony, and Mickey.
- Franklin is half African-American, half-White and is an orphan raised in the segregated South. He is extremely loyal and uses his street-smarts and strength to survive.
- Tony, who is Italian and also from the South, is in his 30s, thin, and well-dressed. The listing calls for an actor with an Italian accent. Tony’s only interest is making money.
- The third and youngest character, Mickey, is also Italian, in his late teens/early 20s. He’s all talk and his bite is non-existent compared to his bark. His relative youthfulness leads to him talking his way into, and out of, situations.
This casting call contains a lot of information about the characters and their personalities without any sort of confirmation from Take-Two but there have been rumors of Mafia III releasing on next-gen consoles for a while. While it is possible that Take-Two is making a brand new IP, I think it’s unlikely considering that gamers enjoy the Mafia series so much and have been clamoring for Mafia III.
