If you boot up your copy of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare tomorrow and something begins updating, fret not, this is great news; you are getting the latest free downloadable content that offers a slew of new ways to play and wreak havoc on gardens everywhere. Specifically, the DLC pack is called Garden Variety, and it includes Pirate Zombies and a new 8v8 map called Chomp Town that emphasizes frantic close-quarter combat to make things all the more wild in this already insane game.
Additionally, with the new map comes a new mode as well called Gnome Bomb, which brings in a poor little gnome with a bomb strapped to its back that you must detonate at the enemy’s base. It seems to be a little similar to Obliteration mode from Battlefield 4, except crueler. For anyone wondering, other modes will still be playable as well in Chomp Town.
Lastly, a load of new customization options are being thrown into the mix, including new power upgrades, abilities, accessories, and costumes, because who doesn’t love to customize their own anthropomorphic sunflower? You can try out all the new content as soon as it arrives tomorrow in an update set to go live at an undetermined time. It’s mighty generous of PopCap to release this at no charge. We’ll be sure to let you know if any more content is on the way for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
