Foul Play Brings Theatre Brawling to PS4 and Vita

Mediatonic has announced that their theatre brawler Foul Play is headed to PlayStation 4 and Vita. This adventure, starring Baron Dashforth and his assistant Scampwick, was a favorite of mine at PAX last year. It was already released on Xbox 360 and PC, which I really enjoyed, you can check out my review here.

This game will be a cross buy launch, with some “exciting new difficulties and optimization for each platform.” On PS4, it will run a 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.

Foul Play is an interesting brawler in a few ways, my favorite being the co-op moves available when players work together. Tossing an enemy back and forth with a friend is quite a bit fun. There are also lots of challenges and unlockables available, which always gives you something to shoot for as you play through the Master Daemonologist’s retold tale. Also worth noting is the almost Rock Band-like crowd meter, which replaces a health bar of any kind.

No word from the Brits at Mediatonic on a release date, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
