The Lickening – Finally, a Saliva-Based Dueling Game

It’s the game you didn’t know you needed. It’s a “saliva-based dueling game.” It’s The Lickening. Don’t you dare lie to me; I know you have always wanted to make out with a bear. Well, worry not, because now you can, thanks to developer OnlySlightly.

When RunJumpDev hosted the “We Make Games” event, the original build of The Lickening was created, in 48 hours no less. While it has been playable at a specially-made arcade cabinet in Lexington, KY, it is now coming to PC and Ouya, just in time for Valentine’s Day. If you’re still wondering what to get that special someone this year, consider The Lickening, with 5 Steve Buscemi-based characters including a bear with “unique personality traits and powers.”

Basically, two players select a character whose saliva begins to eject from their mouth like a snake, attempting to cover as much of the screen as possible before running into anything. Yeah, it’s weird, but in a brilliant and moist sort of way. Plus, a bear.

You can pay what you want for your copy of The Lickening when it is released on February 14th, 2014.
