Microsoft Officially Introduces Xbox One Media Remote

Following last week’s Amazon leak, which revealed an image of a new Xbox remote, Microsoft has officially introduced the Xbox One Media Remote.

The remote looks like a sleek and slim TV remote, and will allow users to control both Blu-ray movies and Xbox streams without having to use the Xbox controller. It will feature the “OneGuide” button, which will take you directly to the Xbox TV app for easy access to TV shows and movies. The remote can also utilize the Kinect’s infrared blaster to control the power and volume of your TV or any other receivers. Perhaps the coolest feature is the motion-activated backlit buttons, because it never hurts to make your new hardware shiny.

The Xbox Media Remote is expected to release in early March, and will retail for $24.99.
