The sequel to historical strategy game Hegemony Rome: Wars of Ancient Greece, Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar, will be unlocking its doors for Steam Early Access buyers soon. February 12th, to be exact. The Rise of Caesar is apparently well into development, despite being an Early Access game. Players will be able to play at least 12 hours of gameplay, most of the main game’s features, and the first two chapters of the campaign. Twinfinite’s staff is pretty much completely against Early Access. We don’t understand paying (most of the time, a lot of money) to basically beta a game for a company. That being said, can you believe that I’d never heard of this series? Me, with my immense love of all things sim/ god/ tycoon/ strategy. I’m intrigued by it, but my disdain for Early Access will certainly make me wait for its full release. On the Early Access launch (Man, that’s now a thing…), developers Longbow Games will be hosting two developer walkthroughs on Kalypso Media’s Twitch. If you’d love to be a part of the development process, grab Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar over here and a teaser trailer can be found over here.
