The Guilty Gear series has finally reared its extremely bizarre head once again as Guilty Gear Isuka joins the Steam marketplace. What’s stranger still is that they would choose one of the non-traditional versions of the fighting game franchise to be put on stop, and without online multiplayer either. Nevertheless, there’s a lot to like here, especially at a pricetag of $8.99 via Steam, or currently on sale for $5.99 on GOG.
Guilty Gear Isuka makes it return from its initial debut on the PlayStation 2 and offers 23 playable characters and various single-player modes including a side-scrolling action-adventure type mode, local multi-player with up to 4 players, and color customization. If you can nab this for $5.99, it’s a steal. If you need more Guilty Gear in your life, GOG also has Guilty Gear X2 #Reload on sale for $5.99 as well, although not for use with Steam. Regardless, it’s a phenomenal example of just what Guilty Gear has to offer, and it’s one of my favorite fighting games of all time.
Both versions are fully compatible with Xbox 360 controllers and Mac computers as well. Isuka wasn’t as well received as X2 or its many variations, but for around $12 for both games, this is a steal. Also, if you’ve never played a Guilty Gear game before, prepare yourself; they’re pretty fucking crazy.
