Early 3D platforming; it’s a thing of wonder, really. To think that we were entering a whole new dimension completely blind and producing these games in a way that no one had ever seen before is incredible. Games like Super Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot have become legendary for pioneering tight gameplay in an entirely new environment. Other games, like Tomb Raider 2, … not so much.
On this episode of SplitScreen, Henry and I begin our much anticipated journey with Lara Croft in Tomb Raider 2 for the PC. Henry has years of experience with the game, while I only vaguely remember the beginning. Does this action/platformer from Core Design still hold up? No, no it doesn’t.
