MGS V: Ground Zeroes Gameplay videos

As the release date for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes approaches, Konami continues to drip-feed content in order to make sure it’s front-and-center in our minds in the leadup to the ACTUAL game that’s coming up later; Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Today, they have released a couple of gameplay trailers focused on some different aspects of what it has to offer. The trailer for Jamais Vu is both a throwback to Hideo Kojima’s seminal 1988 title Snatcher, and also to this year’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. It takes place in the same camp as Night Mission, but tells a story of body snatcher aliens who can only be stopped by Raiden being sent from the future to take them out. Yeah, it’s pretty standard fare for the Metal Gear series. The trailer for it is up above on the big screen, and it is exclusive to the XBox One and XBox 360.

The second video, entitled Night Mission, is essentially a retelling of a previously shown side mission that featured daytime combat. This version of it is heavily stealth-focused, and shows off the game’s shiny visuals with its rain and lighting effects as Snake infiltrates to rescue a prisoner and escape by helicopter. You can watch the whole thing here.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is set for release on March 14, 2014 for the PS4, PS3, XBox One, and XBox 360.
